Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana is one of about 125 species of Kalanchoe. It is classified as a succulent, making it easy to grow indoors and doesn't require water very often. The flowers can range from colours such as red, orange, yellow, pink, and white. The flower bunches look similar to a tiny bouquet. The plant itself is poisonous to humans and animals, so you only want this plant for air purifying reasons, as well as a beautiful piece of natural art in your home or office!
Kalanchoe has been used as a topical medicine to help treat infections & inflammation. I wouldn't know where to begin with trying this out, so maybe skip that part of using the plant! Although I may have to experiment with this myself one day and let you know how it goes!
My plant has hints of pink in the leaves, so I paired mine in a pink pot to accent the pink in the plant! I've had this plant for over a year now, but the original plant is probably 7 years old now!

Make sure to give your plant lots of sunlight and never over-water. I planted mine in a regular potting soil mixture and it is doing amazing. You can propagate it by cutting a segment of stem from the plant and replanting in dry soil. There are tons of videos on YouTube on how to do this. Check out this one:
Fun fact: Kalanchoe was one of the first plants to ever reach space! Apparently it was used to boost the moods of the astronauts... hmm.. that seems weird to me, but, maybe! This isn't a controversy kinda website! ...or is it??
You can pick up Kalanchoe's at a grocery store. I highly recommend purchasing one of these stunning art pieces created from nature! They would also make a great gift! I am planning on propagating my plant and giving away/selling the new plants! I haven't propagated it yet, so I may have to update you on that in the future.
I hope you enjoyed my first garden post. Let me know what else you would like to know about plants in the future! Happy gardening!
